Mr. Coulter’s expertise includes several buildings types including Commercial, Healthcare, Mixed-Use, Retail and Residential projects. As a knowledge-based design professional Mr. Coulter has led many clients through challenging solutions for complex building projects. Alun is responsible for project management during the entire duration of the project, managing and collaborating with design staff, multi-disciplined engineers, specialty consultants, regulatory agents, contractors and the client. Additionally, Mr. Coulter oversees quality control and is always seeking ways to find improvement and more efficient solutions.
Mr. Coulter is a Registered Architect (RA) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the state of New Jersey with over 20 years of professional experience in Design and Construction. Mr. Coulter is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
Founding partner, Hyon Kang, LEED AP, is a skilled project manager and problem solver. He is directly involved in the conceptual design phase of each project and is adept at synthesizing client expectations and project goals with the realities of the built environment. With over 20 years of professional experience managing a broad range of project types, he has a proven track record of delivering thoughtfully conceived design responses that remain sensitive to project objectives, scheduling and budget concerns.
Hyon holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Drexel University and is a LEED accredited professional through the U.S. Green Building Council.
As project coordinator at KCA Design Associates, Mr. Dry has experience in Single & Multifamily Residential buildings, as well as small-scale Mixed- use development. As a young professional in the field of Architecture, Mr. Dry believes that the key to a successful design is possible through a combination of streamlined aesthetics & cutting edge technology & building methods. His responsibilities include Zoning, CD documentation, permitting, and most importantly, the creation of 3D parametric models & renderings.
Mr. Dry holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Philadelphia University’s College of Architecture and the Built Environment, including a semester-long Study Abroad term in Rome, Italy. He has over 8 years of design experience, and 3 years of professional experience in Architectural Design / Planning in the City of Philadelphia. He is a Recipient of the 2014 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Henry Adams Certificate of Merit, nominated by staff & nationally recognized for “Excellence in the Study of Architecture at Philadelphia University”.
Mr. Henry is a skilled, result-driven Professional Structural Engineer (PE) with over 38 years combined experience in design engineering, construction, and program management of hospital, pharmaceutical, biologics, fine/specialty chemicals, single and multifamily residential and commercial projects. Proven experience in meeting tight timelines and budgets. Broad based responsibilities in structural and mechanical engineering with experience in front-end engineering, procurement and construction activities. Ability to fast track and drive projects from conception to final completion. Demonstrated ability to build long-term client relationships and determine cost effective solutions for design and processes to comply with regulatory, state and local code requirements. Mr. Henry is also a member of The Engineers Club of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Henry is the preferred in-house structural engineer of choice by KCA Design Associates, allowing our clients the convenience of a one stop shop when it comes to the design, engineering, and construction of their project. Outside of the convenience factor, we work closely with our structural engineer to provide our clients with the best structural solutions as they pertain to the modification or evaluation of existing conditions, as well as new ground up construction.
